Forward Deployed Engineer
About Manifold Labs
Manifold Labs is building the backbone of permissionless intelligence — a global
compute market where companies and individuals can access world-class hardware at
best-in-class pricing.
Our flagship product, Targon, is a permissionless, verifiably confidential AI
cloud. It serves thousands of users with high-performance AI infrastructure,
including B300s, B200s, H200s, H100s and RTX Pro 6000s. Security is at the core
of everything we build, leveraging NVIDIA Confidential Computing and Intel TDX to
power our own Targon Virtual Machine (TVM) and TargonOS to keep enterprise data
encrypted at rest, in transit, and even while it is being processed. We are a
small team focused on engineering excellence, backed by a $10.5M Series A, and we
are now scaling Targon, Sybil, and the rest of our ecosystem to enterprise
customers.
The Role
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to sit at the intersection of
engineering and go-to-market. You'll work across our product suite as the
technical bridge between customers and our engineering team. You'll be deeply
hands-on with the stack, credible in front of buyers, and the person who
translates real customer needs into shipped solutions. This is a hybrid role for
someone who is genuinely strong on both sides: technically capable across the full
stack, and equally comfortable presenting to a room, joining a sales call, and
translating customer needs into something we can ship.
You'll be focused on:
- Serving as the primary technical liaison between the engineering and sales
teams, owning the translation of customer requirements into engineering work and
vice versa.
- Joining sales calls and customer meetings as the technical authority — running
demos, scoping integrations, answering deep architecture questions about Targon,
TVM, attestation and confidential compute.
- Scoping customer requirements and translating them into concrete technical
solutions, integrations, and deployments on Targon.
- Building prototypes, integrations, and tooling that get customers to value
quickly, from API integration with the Targon Cloud to standing up confidential
workloads.
- Feeding structured customer signal back to engineering and product, and working
directly with the core team to deliver solutions, fixes, and roadmap input.
- Writing and presenting technical content — integration guides, architecture
walkthroughs, and post-call follow-ups that move deals forward.
- Owning the technical relationship post-sale — onboarding, troubleshooting, and
ensuring customers succeed on the platform.
Ideal Experiences
- Strong full-stack engineering ability, comfortable reading and writing
production code and reasoning about systems end to end.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to lead
technical conversations with customers and join sales calls.
- Proficiency with TypeScript, and experience with Next.js, React, and tRPC (the
core of our stack).
- Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, and CLIs, and explaining them clearly to
others.
- A bias toward ownership — able to take an ambiguous customer problem and drive
it to a delivered solution.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with AI/ML inference, training, GPUs, or model deployment.
- Experience working on permissionless systems or building market-related
products.
- Experience working in Golang.
- Exposure to confidential computing, TEEs, or secure infrastructure.
- Background in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering, sales engineering, or
technical account role at an infrastructure company.
Perks & Benefits
- Competitive Compensation Structure
- 401K Matching
- Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Fully covered Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- Access to 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a fast-paced startup environment
